1.  Why is the Rotovac better than a wand?

The manual scrub wand is a good cleaning tool for cleaning lightly soiled carpet. When cleaning more heavily soiled carpet, the wand becomes a ‘beast of burden.’ Cleaning results depend upon the strength, stamina, and technique of the person working the wand. Cleaning heavily soiled carpets with a scrub wand is ‘hard labor.’ The repetitive motion of scrubbing back and forth is extremely strenuous and fatiguing. An individual cant scrub long enogh to effectively clean your carpets.
First and foremost the Rotovac is an electric power scrubbing tool. Comparing the Rotovac to a wand is like comparing a skill saw to a hand saw. We have converted a back and forth manual task to a much easier and more efficient rotary mechanized operation. Which makes more cleaning passes per minute than is possible with a manual scrub wand. In addition, the cleaning passes are from all directions rather than just back and forth. This is what produces better cleaning results for you.

4.  Why should I have my carpets cleaned?

There are many reasons to have your carpet and upholstery cleaned:
Health - Carpeting and fabrics not cleaned and properly maintained have the potential to cause a variety of health problems inside the home or work place.

Appearance - maintain the original look and luster of your carpet with regularly scheduled cleanings.

5.  How often should I have my furniture cleaned?

The EPA currently has issued no guidelines on the recommended cleaning frequency for upholstery. Until such a guideline has been issued, our company recommends that you have your upholstery cleaned every other time your carpet is cleaned. Example: if your carpets get cleaned every six months, your upholstery should be cleaned once a year.

9.  How long before I can walk on my carpet?

You can walk on your carpet immediately but it is recommended that you limit traffic until completely dry.  It will usually be dry by the time we leave.  Drying times are also dependant on the weather and humidity. If a fabric protectant such as Scotchgard™ has been applied, it is best for the carpet to be completely dry before walking on them to prevent rapid resoiling.

Yes, having your carpet and furniture cleaned removes pollutants and makes for a more friendly breathing environment.

13.  Will you remove all my stains?

Let me start by defining the difference between a spot and a stain: a spot is any foreign material (soil, liquid, etc.) that is removable by standard cleaning methods.(The foreign material is on or around the carpet fiber) A stain is foreign material (soil, liquid, etc.) on carpet that is not usually removable by standard cleaning methods. (The foreign material has penetrated ‘soaked into’ fiber and has changed or damaged the fiber itself) Some stains may be very difficult or impossible to remove.

14.  What if the stain reappears?

If the stain was liquid, it is possible for it to reappear after cleaning. But, maintaining it with spot cleaning is a breeze. Take a white towel soaked with cold water, ring it out, and buff the stain that reappears. Eventually all the stain will be lifted out. A reappearing stain is called Wickering. This happens when the spill goes to the backing of the carpet and/or padding. If you have purchased the "Unbelievable  Stain Remover", use it instead of cold water. Pour the spotter on the towel and then buff the stain.

16.  My carpet is really old, should I replace it?

With the cost of replacing carpet being as expensive as it is today, it is always best to try having the carpet professionally cleaned first. It is far less costly and may make a world of difference.

17.  Which provides better indoor air quality: hardwood, or carpet?

Carpet actually acts like a ‘filter’ trapping pollutants which are then removed by professional carpet cleaning. As long as a regular cleaning schedule is maintained, carpet provides much better indoor air quality than hardwood.

18.  Does Scotchgard protectant really work?

Definitely! Having Scotchgard applied protects carpet and furniture from most spills and stains becoming permanent spots. The Scotchgard will hold the spill so you can have time to spot clean it and/or when we come to clean it, the stain will remove more easily. Without Scotchgard your carpets and furniture are vulnerable to any new spot or stain.

19.  Will my carpets get dirtier faster after I have them cleaned?

Absolutely not! Unless it is done improperly. The system we use is hot water steam extraction with natural enzyme cleaners. This system does not leave any foam residue behind. Any kind of foam cleaning or spotting leaves a residue behind which attracts dust and dirt.

20.  Will getting my carpets cleaned shorten the life of the carpets?

Not at all. Taking care of your carpets will only lengthen the carpet's life. Daily vacuuming and proper carpet cleaning will uphold your carpet investment.

21.  How many times a year should I clean my carpets? Furniture?

Most carpet warranties request a cleaning every 18 months. If the traffic on your carpet is fairly heavy, we suggest every 6-12 months. For your furniture, you should vacuum at least twice a month and have it cleaned every  12-18 months. Constant and proper vacuuming is a must for properly caring for carpets and furniture.
